Our Story

We’d like to introduce ourselves so that you know a little about ‘The Pizza Slice Family’.

We’re Danny and Lucy, a husband and wife with the passion for awesome pizzas, and we strive to deliver an excellent, personalised service!

In 2017 we went on our first visit to the USA and our shared dream for bringing some delicious NY style pizzas to our home of King’s Lynn, was born.

We were married in 2019, but had been childhood sweethearts for many years before that.

In August 2019 we were lucky enough to go on another adventure (our honeymoon) to the USA , we had two secrets…
1. That (all being well) we were going to have a baby
2. We were on a mission to find out how to make THE BEST pizza so that we could (hopefully one day) start our own dream business.

Whilst in America we tried LOADS of pizzas and spoke with, and learnt from, many maestros (of the pizza making variety).

We went to Pizza School NYC and learnt how to make the PERFECT NY style pizza!

When we came home from our travels, we were busier than we would ever be (or so we thought), we were preparing to tell our family and friends about our precious baby… whilst ALSO getting our ideas (and money) together to build a PIZZA TRUCK from scratch!

In MARCH 2020- PHOENIX was born! He was the last little bit of motivation we needed to push on with our dream of running a family pizza truck business.

We knew that we wanted to spend AS MUCH time with our precious boy as we could, and Danny being at work all week from early until late, was not what we wished for our family. We both know how quickly life can change, so wanted to make the best of our little life together as a new family of 3!

So, THE PIZZA SLICE GUY was going to become a reality!

When we bought our truck it was a hideous white work van, but we saw a little glimmer of something in it, and we knew if we worked our socks off…we could make this van the pizza truck we’d imagined!

We poured our hearts and souls, blood, sweat and tears, into turning that hideous white van into the ‘The Pizza Slice Guy’ truck that is recognised today!

We can now say that we have actually been busier than we have EVER been in our lives- what with personally running our pizza business, whilst ALSO devoting our love and time to Phoenix.

When you arrive at our truck you’ll be greeted personally by The Pizza Slice Guy- Danny. He’s the guy that does all of the research into the best ingredients, runs around like a man on a mission each pitch up day and makes EACH pizza too!

At the back of the truck you’ll see Patrick (The Pizza Slice Brother-in-law/ chief oven handler). He’s the guy that places your pizza in the oven, takes it out right on time, moves it carefully into the box, adds the ‘finishers’ and cuts your pizzas into slices!

All of our social media and messaging is handled personally by me, Lucy, and chances are I’m (The Pizza Slice Girl/wife) cuddling Phoenix or he’s just been running laps around me…so thank you for your patience.

The last few years have been a whirlwind adventure for us, including competing in the World Pizza Championships in Las Vegas (yeah its a thing) we’ve also become first time parents AND first time business owners both during a pandemic…and we’ve LOVED it.
